Plaid has a hard time retaining PMs so I’m guessing not. What’s your offer?
Why is that?
Hey, I’m a plaid PM. I don’t think the reason we struggle to retain PMs is comp related (personally my comp is great, but caveat that with the fact that I joined at a good time for my equity to grow a lot). Mostly the problem is that being a PM here is a hard job: we have a lot of stakeholders internally and externally, so it’s just really hard to launch products. And B2B is slower than B2C anyway, so we have some folks who get frustrated and leave. We used to work people really hard, but that’s less true now. The team grew a lot and people have pretty good WLB (in the spectrum of PM WLB)… it’s just a hard job and you have to be kind of stupidly determined to move your product forward.
Could you share some info on what the Netflix pm process is like and if they’re remote friendly for this role?
Really depends on how senior the role is. The answer could be yes or no depending on seniority.
If it’s for a platform role you have a former Netflix pm lead leading that team.
