About a year ago, someone was stealing my photos and captions on Instagram. I reached out to them to ask them to please stop or at least tag me. They must have reported me because within a day, I started to be locked out of my account. Now, a year later, I can’t post to my story, access my DMs or post captions on my posts. I spent years growing this account for a side business and now, all that hard work seems to be for nothing. I’ve reached out to Instagram many times and I’ve heard nothing from them. I saw someone else was locked out of an account on blind and got help so I thought I’d give it a try. Can anyone here help me get my account back? Or at least give me an actual human to talk to? #tech #instagram #facebook #meta
+1 on this — different circumstances but my partner’s been locked out too, with no avail from many attempts at reaching support
Dm me the details and I’ll see what I can do.
Shouldn't there be a better approach to this? I love how helpful FB folks are, but there should be a process to help genuine folks get their accounts back or disable fake accounts run on their/their businesses name. I know it is frustrating when someone starts copying your images and opens a shadow account with a similar name. It is very difficult to report the account - that workflow can be improved as well, and get that account closed. I see my friends requesting their followers to report the account - there should be a better solution to that as well.
Sure Amazon. Let’s fix our own houses before we throw rocks https://www.cambridgeday.com/2021/11/11/with-30-packages-dumped-in-the-wrong-lobby-resident-tried-harder-to-correct-it-than-amazon/ I’m sure you understand the problems of scale, especially with bad actors pretending to be the people that got wrongfully banned.
haha @howt I love the roast. I also work for AWS and had my personal IG disabled. Going to DM you some details. :)
Thank you so much! Sending you a DM now
