Current job is with consultancy and remote but legacy ETL , new job is offering Azure+dataricks but in office all days.
How you.managed to get offer for a altogether a new/latest tech stack when you work on legacy ETL (assuming it is control m, teradata, Informatica and likes)
I was lucky . Most of the questions were high level and not on coding . I did certification on azure and data bricks recently so had high level idea and also went through some youtube case studies. I guess i have to learn more on the job if i choose Abbott
You will really miss your remote flexibility if you go to Abbott. You might be able to get 1 day remote at best if you apply for it. I think you should wait for something better. This is barely a bump in salary and you will lose your flexibility. It doesn’t sound great. Depending on your situation, commuting could also end up costing as much as your salary increase.
Hey thanks for replying. My current job is remote but toxic because of onshore - offshore model and manager . Hows work culture in abbott. I dont mind going office if WLB is good and learning .
I think it will vary from office to office. My wlb is personally outstanding. There is no on call since our unit is focused on a premise based medical device. Everyone signs off at 5 and there isn’t a culture of work late or anything. Culture is definitely healthy and not toxic in my group. But I think there are different methodologies across different sites and it is definitely something to try and poke at and learn more about from your prospective manager.
Goto abott then switch to Intuitive. We will double that TC easy.
I wouldn't give Op that much hope in such a climate. Also, one is remote while the other is in-office 5 days a week.
