In Arkansas everyone is mostly conservative so by default I’m a rational human being with common sense. Every now & then during casual conversations with a coworker I’d get railroaded with controversial terms ie;(caravan, thugs, 2nd amendment, lock her up, welfare, build a wall, pro-life) It doesn’t help our office has Fox News on in the halls & break-rooms. What are some ways you’ve professionally handled these conversations?
1. Avoid. 2. Agree. 3. Do not engage in conversation.
Moved to a sane state, no longer work with chuds. In all seriousness cultural compatibility is among the most important factors in selecting a workplace to me. I spend a huge chunk of my life at work. I don't want to be around people I loathe, and who loathe me. A place where Fox news on a TV would fly would not be a match.
Yeah, 100% agree.
Maybe grow a pair?
Of tits. He’s saying to get on estrogen and accelerate your transition.
Because 👆 he's a Republican and would like to date you.
Jealous
I wouldn’t work for a company where Fucks News is a constant in the halls and break rooms
Tell people straight up what your views are when asked, but don’t start political conversations. Change the TV channel to something neutral—HGTV?
Throw the occasional Lenin quote into conversation, but only ones they would agree with. Conversation about big government? Go with "When there is state there can be no freedom, but when there is freedom there will be no state." You can tell them it was Lenin after they give you a "hell yeah."
Don’t put yourself as a liberal - you’ll be thrown out sooner than John Wayne could draw his gun in a western. You are in a state that makes Texas looks like California in political views, so tread carefully.
“2nd amendment” is not a controversial term 🙄
Shot dead because they refuse to defend themselves. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jul/16/sacha-baron-cohen-guns-children-toddlers-who-is-america-reality

Buy a pair of noise canceling headphones 🎧. Best investment is in your own sanity. Sorry. I feel the same way you do. But this is the only thing that has worked for me.
