I ordered a $26.75 pizza on Postmates because they offered free delivery, and ended up paying $50 (including a $5 tip) even though the subtotal when I ordered was $35. When I contacted them they said it was because the place i ordered from isnt a Postmates Partner, and how i could tell was by the fact that on the checkout screen it said “Estimated Subtotal”, and wouldn’t adjust the charge. First of all, they need to have a better way of warning their customers that the price would likely increase due to me ordering from a non-partner because who the F would automatically think “oh thats a non partner because the subtotal is estimated”. Second of all, they need to be more accommodating when a customer runs into this situation, at least the first time it happens. Needless to say, i will never use them again. /rant #shadypractices #salty
Caviar does this too. You end up paying $25-30 in taxes/fees never mind tip.
All these food delivery services are shady AF! The "service fee" is the biggest fraud as it has nothing to do with service and just a way for them to make money. They charge a delivery fee and then tips on top of it. Not to mention that the restaurant owners pay 30% or more to them as well
Postmates does this a lot. I got charged more after the order is made. I tried taking screenshot once and then they gave the extra money back. Stop using Postmates. It's a scam app.
Never again will they see a dime from me!
I've stopped using it in 2017. Had a very bad experience.
Don't you guys see a total bill before paying.
No, they increase it after you place your order and the food is delivered
The amount they have first is a guess but they don't say that anywhere
Do a charge back
I’m going to call my credit card company to dispute the charge
Shady! Leave a 1 star review ... I’m supposed to know all these tricks for all apps I use? Lost my trust
I agree
Do a chargeback
What does that mean??
Tell your credit card company that postmates was deceptive and they'll refund you
I agree with you. First time I was going to order from a restaurant, I was in NY. Was gonna order through the app and price jumped-jumped. I just online ordered through Yelp!. Way cheaper.

Yep, same here. Price I ordered on some sandwiches nearly doubled. The information isn't listed anywhere unless you look up why you got overcharged. Not using them again
Yeah. If they are a non-partner and the price is likely to increase, you better damn sure make me 💯 aware, anything less is straight up deceitful!
