Hello Blind community, I've secured an interview for the Sr. Product Manager role at Microsoft, and I was hoping to gather some insights and suggestions on how best to prepare. Specifically, I'm looking for guidance on what questions to anticipate in both the initial screening and the onsite rounds, and any tips or resources for effectively preparing.
Any tips on how to get an interview if not a PM?
What did you do to actually get an interview? I’ve applied with a solid referral to a few PM roles I am qualified for, no contact from recruiters
If you want a recruiter to reach out don’t do a referral. I was an employee at Microsoft for a long time and not once did a referral for me nor have I ever heard of someone having a referral work. Referrals don’t count toward recruiters metrics so there’s no incentive for them to hire referrals. My advice - don’t get referred if you want to be contacted.
Mock interviews will help you cover any gaps you might have, but I think it's best to build on a course of some sort. Product alliance worked for me and a few PM friends at Msft. Pretty solid prep tool for any PM level.
Hey, how was your process? Have you received an offer?

Following! How was the loop? What were the core capabilities that you were being assessed on? Was it behavioural based or had a lot of product design and product intuition questions?
