This was bound to happen. Prime Video has supplanted Netflix as the No. 1 subscription streaming outlet in the U.S. in an annual ranking compiled by research firm Parks Associates. (See full chart below.) The company didn’t disclose its methodology for how it isolates the number of Prime Video subscribers, a metric long cloaked in secrecy due to Amazon’s general reluctance to disclose statistics about its Prime business. Still, Parks has been a reputable tracker of the streaming space for more than a decade. For many years in the 2010s, its rankings looked consistent, with the former “Big 3” of Netflix, Prime Video and Hulu sharing the top three spots, always with Netflix at the top. Today, the rankings are much more fragmented given how many new players have entered the scene. https://deadline.com/2022/12/prime-video-replaces-netflix-streaming-parks-associates-1235187438/
Now please pay 450k+ cash for prime video engineers
No, $225k is the most.
225k and 5 banana
Monopoly. Learn to say it more often.
Yeah, it was cheaper for us to bundle Hulu/Disney+ with Verizon, Prime is difficult for us to give up, so now Netflix is something we'd only subscribe to for a month at a time for a specific show. I wouldn't be surprised if Hulu tops it too.
Same situation. Netflix keeps raising subscription price, but only has interesting shows at times. It’s really difficult to justify its cost without bundles.
Rings of power gang
Netflix better greenlight more cake shows before it's too late
It was expected. The quality of Netflix shows have been meh at best lately. I have found myself watching prime video more than Netflix these last few months.
"The company didn’t disclose its methodology for how it isolates the number of Prime Video subscribers, a metric long cloaked in secrecy due to Amazon’s general reluctance to disclose statistics about its Prime busines" - how does one trust this if they don't disclose the methodology? Secondly: Netflix has 10x the viewing of Amazon Prime, we're not even in the same league. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/cbs-netflix-tv-consumption-fall-2022-1235272844/amp/
Defensive much? Lol
I'm stating the facts. The viewership numbers are a "fact", independently verified.
Disney + Hulu + Espn will take over eventually. Every household with a kid has a Disney subscription.
Pfff, Prime Video is literally the worst streaming service on the market.
did they count every prime member as a "subscriber"?
