Similar in that they have the same kinds of internal tools and resources Different in that the teams are smaller and more agile, so there is more exposure to design leadership. The critiques are more intense than the ones at fb but not in a bad way necessarily. The people care and it shows. IG designers run more senior and it definitely feels like it. I feel like my prototyping and design chips got better in just a few short months at IG
Oh hello fellow 4-digit Metamate! +1 on points above, I’ve been at IG for a couple years and it’s more design driven than other orgs. In my experience working with teams from FB, IG is a lot more intentional when it comes to building products. We measure different things, we have a more holistic/long-term philosophy, and we don’t work in silos as much. I feel like teams on FB deal with more politics and are more aggressive with their growth tactics to grow at all costs. I hear IG has worse WLB than FB, however.
Have a downlevel offer (from staff equivalent to IC5 at IG). Would you say the quality of IG IC5 Designers run high?
