It surprises me every week that how is it that Sundar survived. Despite all his numerous fiascos and a complete shitshow of strategy, he continues to be the CEO. Just how much incompetence a poor guy need to show to get kicked out? You know the bar is unfairly low when even Sundar is struggling to fall enough to meet it.
He’s more successful than you are. Probably more than you’ll ever be.
Why are you guys surprised ? Let me tell you some examples of how technically or domain wise weak most google pm/tpms are 1. A L4 google product manager (pm) who is supposedly leading an api product didn’t know js or api testing and kept asking stupid questions, bad requirements and delayed the entire semester okr 2. A data platform tpm did not know the difference between data warehouse and data mart and data lake. Tpms are now being hired from tcs ,wipro delivery manager background and guess what type of culture they are bringing in 3. A L5 job opening for a “gen AI “ pm role had no mention of any statistics or any basic AI tool like langchain or any scripting requirement But the job poster(a pm of course) bragged the applicant must be a pm ..lol ..such a hard requirement 😛 4. There is a pm in one of internal gcp teams who is more busy fighting with tpm , working as project manager than clarifying requirements from stakeholders..he claims himself as ML product manager while not knowing how to set success criteria for ml models . 5. There are pms in search , google one ,gcp who vomit non sense on linkedin about how they cracked technical roles without being technical and misguide others. They got the job as they are from few selected universities but they severely lack any tech skills or any significant job experience whatsoever prior to that transition. They simply survive by shooting from the shoulders of engineers and ems 6. You might think that thery might be good at sales or marketing but no , most of them hate that ..this is why one more division pmm was created to hide the sheer incompetence of these snobbish morons 7. Hardware , core storage and networking pms are slight exceptions to this . They are better tbh 8. Btw old pms are just as bad as the new ones ..old pms do love to point out that how hard it was for them back then but their work shows how awful they are 9. Mckinsey , bcg consultants are now being poured into core tech roles. This should not have happened at all . They would love to calculate dev productivity by their framework soon . You can’t believe their sheer arrogance and incompetence These morons create artificial gate keeping difficulties in the hiring system by making it difficult to hire actual good,competent pms who might be coming from strong swe or sales or research or design background with strong hard skills….but these imbeciles want typical mba types who will purchase their “ crack the faang pm “ course Now the salty pm/tpms will start attacking me while shifting linkedin about googliness posts 😂
