Is 250k base + bonus (basically ~300k TC) doable in NY city area at Capital One - senior manager - Product Management role? Any help would be appreciable.#productmanager #pm
Nope!
225k TC is more likely, and that would be top end
Appreciate your response. Would you please let me know the sign on bonus and typical year-end raise at this level Thanks in advance :)
YoY raise without a promotion is bad, 2-6%. SM to director is a big jump, comp shifts from base to RSU and performance bonus. No clue on sign on for industry hires unfortunately
Capital one probably pays higher than EY I would think, no?
Someone from Facebook responded and they are spot on. 225k is the manager level comp at EY so I ought to shoot for VP and not SM role
Capital One is industry. Its not consulting and it's not tech. Senior manager at EY is more or less a VP or senior director anywhere else. So if you're targeting a senior manager role there you'll get Manager comp or first year senior manager comp depending on what level and group you currently work in at EY
Just to add, the banding is drastic depending on what competency and group you work at in EY. Case in point, I made 200k as a manager in a specialty practice where some where senior managers in tax and make 150. It really depends so it's hard to give an apples to apples comparison
You are spot on. Working within EY Parthenon and making 250k as a manager. Set up of Titles got me and hence arose all the confusion. Would you be willing to chat and potentially refer for product management role at FB? no worries if it isn’t something you are comfortable with.
Capital One levels are Senior Associate - Manager - Sr Manager - Director - VP
From what I’ve seen mostly, you don’t become people managers until Director levels. I think you should probably aim for director level position with your expected TC
Most (but not all) Senior Managers in my org have two or three direct reports so people management can start at the Senior Manager level.
$225k top end for NYC is accurate. I’d push for director if possible but temper expectations on VP. MBB AP/partner come in at VP
Appreciate your response. 225k is base, is that right? I am assuming 10-20% bonus on top of base should be doable!
No, base is closer to 185k; target bonus about 25k
Thank you for the quick response. 1) Any idea on sign on bonus for the senior manager level 2) what is the typical year-end raise at this level? Thanks again!
Sign on should be able to get ~20k Year end raise assuming no promotion will be 2-3 %
