I need to pick between a product team and an infra team at Dropbox. Both are ML-related, and I have a background in ML but I'm more interested in the SWE side of it. Where are the better opportunities at Dropbox? I'll be joining as an IC2 (265 TC/5 YOE).
Do you have an idea of what kind of work, tech stack, projects etc you’ll be doing at each team?
Deploying/serving ML models for infra, Search team is query understanding and Sharing team is microservice migration in Python. Python/Go for the tech stack for the most part on each team
Yoe?

What'd you prep for interview?
LC for a few weeks, lots of practice interviews
Did you end up getting any sign on bonus OP. I remember you had a offer post
I haven't yet. We're starting negotiations on Monday
Update: got a signing bonus of 47k
I've heard infra teams are more stable there. Could you elaborate on what the interview process was? How many rounds were there
It was pretty typical - one phone screen, then five rounds for virtual on-site. 2 coding, 1 system design, 1 behavioral, 1 with the director of engineering
Thanks for your response. Was fhe system design generic or ML system design?

Rejected my TikTok offer. Something I’m gonna regret?
Infra or pick a stable product team
Care to elaborate? I come from a place where product is "the cool kids table" and infra is basically the opposite. Which product teams are stable? I'd need to choose between search and sharing for product
Infra is more stable and typically has less churn. There are a lot of experimental product teams that may not pan out so there’s risk there, but it will be more exciting.
