Got hike of 6.23%. Bonus 15% from 10% earlier. No RSU refreshers. Is this fair?
How does it look relative to your peers? That's how you decide if it's fair or not.
Heard of 17% hike so far.
Average or median is 17%? Or is that the absolute max?
Most promos start you at lower band of new level
True
When is the Twitter performance review period?
Not enough details in the post to answer.
Are you starting at Twitter? If so, it’s fair.
Post your new numbers
New level- 150 Base, 15% bonus, 43k per year RSU
rip. new hires at sde2 can get around 170-180k base.
Joining twitter soon as swe1. Can i dm you for some questions op
Tell me how to pass the sys design for Twitter on-site and you can have part of my salary to get that hike higher
The increase is irrelevant, what matters is where your new TC fits within the band for the new level. My Amazon promotions were both pathetic because I was pretty high in the band when promoted, so I didn't see real gains until annual comp increases
^^ this. if you add the increases from your raise and from annual comp changes, what’s the overall percent?

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Promotions are worth more than their monetary value because you can parlay them into higher external offers when you leave the company.
best strategy is to not disclose your level while looking for external offers. there's no value in getting promoted if you're planning to change companies.
That's easy in some companies, but hard if you come from a company where levels are reflected in your official job title
