Prop 22 ruled unconstitutional RIP Lyft and Uber

This means they will likely exit California entirely since they can’t possibly support drivers as employees. Other states will follow. Likely to get appealed and drag out I suppose. I mean you may have good intentions fighting for drivers but the end result is… there won’t be any drivers at all because the service will cease to exist. Amazing first level thinking. https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article253647838.html

I would guess they temporarily exit entirely and then come back as a taxi company with brutal rates. You won’t use it other than airport trips and after drinking. Demand will drop significantly. Thus the majority of drivers will no longer be needed and would essentially lose their job/lose whatever they considered Uber to be for them.

Do you really think Uber and Lyft will cease to exist with the amount of dependency they have created for the general public ? LAW always has and will continue to have loop holes . These tech giants will continue to thrive !

Probably cheaper to just pay fines and keep operating than change business

IBM XgQT05 Aug 21, 2021

What makes you think there will only be fines if the appeal is not successful? The litigants can get an injunction.

instacart, doordash and likes will have the same fate

I used to tip 25% standard for my food delivery. Then CA started demanding an additional $2 in service fees. Now I tip $0 and only order from restaurants that have deals going on. Leftists have this nonsenical belief they are entitled to make demands of others. It's a lot of fun to put them in their place. Dumb voters.

try cutting out internet/tv for a bit, don't let politics consume you!

You're not getting the rich liberal politicians doing this. It's just the minimum wage bloke missing his tips

I think leaving the state hits them harder financially. I would say hire less drivers, but have them be full time. They get the benefits/hourly wage, but get extra funds through tips

So basically California is saying enough of your comforts start using your car.
