Hi All, I am potentially considering joining ServiceNow, provided they update their offer as per my expectations. ServiceNow because it's in my city and I have a medical situation with one of parents, due to which I can't leave my home. ServiceNow agreed to offer me a remote persona. Please share the things you feel one must know before joining ServiceNow. I am currently at Morgan Stanley. The work here isn't challenging, but given my situation I am happy being here before making the right move. Morgan Stanley: TC: ₹45,00,000 (Base+PF+Bonus) Total YoE: 12 years ServiceNow offer (IC4): Asked to update the offer Staff Network Engineer Location: Mumbai Base: ₹46,26,000 Bonus: 15% Provident Fund: 2,22,000 (Not sure if servicenow will contribute this amount or will be deducted from salary) RSUs: ₹17,40,000 ($86800 in 4 years. Recruiter said this is the max. RSUs are tight) TC: ₹72,00,000 (~$ 90,000) ServiceNow offer (IC4): updated offer Staff Network Engineer Location: Mumbai Base: ₹50,00,000 Bonus: 15% Provident Fund: 2,40,000 RSUs: ₹17,40,000 Joining Bonus: ₹3.5L TC: ₹80,30,000 (~$ 90,000) Google cloud (L5): Location: Bangalore Base: ₹45,00,000 Bonus: 15% RSUs: $120K in 4 years TC: ₹92,00,000 (~ $115,000) I had already shown the above Google offer to ServiceNow, but they still gave the above offer. I have told them that I need a better offer from ServiceNow to join. Location flexibility is the biggest concern of mine and they are satisfying it. How is the culture at ServiceNow and how is growth encouragement and location mobility within ServiceNow. Somewhere in the future I want to relocate abroad. #tech #servicenow #culture #locationmobility

PF they will contribute 2.22L and you will also contribute the same amount of 2.22L. How much updated base and stocks have you asked for with ServiceNow?
I didn't state any figure. I asked them to come up with a number. But, I feel I won't take up the offer if TC doesn't come upto INR85-86L. I was informed by the recruiter that the refreshers at IC4 are approx. USD40K and annual base raise is around 10%. Are those correct numbers
Yes those are the average hike and refreshers for IC4.
Do you feel comfortable relocating abroad after 12 yoe? Don’t you have parents in India?
I do and that's why I am stuck here in Mumbai all my life, in spite of having offers from Google, Amazon, and Zalando. I realize I can't live like this my whole life. It will haunt me later in life. Everyone has to live their own life isn't it. For now, I don't know how will I do it. But, that's why I want to join a company where internal relocation is possible. Worst case scenario I can come back to India internally if needed for couple of years.
You can take it in India instead - with that much pay do you think google India is less? After 12 years exp your parents will likely be quite old- would you be fine with seeing them very few times again or receiving a call and not being able to support them? Its much easier to try out abroad closer to when you start working as then everyone is self sufficient
Don’t do servicenow. I’ve seen the culture on the India teams and it is brutal. They are all overworked and miserable because they’re expected to work 24hrs in order to be in sync with the US teams. There is little to no growth after IC4 and you’re constantly scrambling to try to justify your performance. I also have a family member to look after but find myself too tired and busy to give them as much attention as I need to. I would take Google honestly. Bigger name and it might in the end be a healthier choice for your mental health as well.
Thanks for sharing the details.
I don’t know between ServiceNow and Google but they both are better choices than Morgen Stanley! The challenge of time zone is the same across all 3 companies you mentioned. In servicenow the annual increase is often higher than 10% ( I am a manager and have had 20-25% increases for some performant India employees) Regarding the RSU, the recruiter is right. The managers hand is very tight in increasing any of those.
How are time zones sync for service now US and India? Is it daily night meetings? Do US teams dictate everything or there is some independence for India team?
Thanks @SDBestCo How about the base Is there a scope for me to ask for more on the cash component upto ₹58L as base, which is 12 lakhs additional than the offered base
I recommend ServiceNow
