Spouse works at intel. Urging her to move to another company. Based on recent revenue numbers and overall outlook. TC is also peanuts, 140k for 5 yoe in the Bay Area. One line of thinking here is, now is not the time to move. Maybe in 1-2 years. Thoughts?
What’s your TC?
Mine is 650k, hers is 140-150k
Where do you work? What’s your role there
I think if you are making good money and even if she makes less its better to wait .. Two benefits .. 1.) If they Layoff you get severance 2.) Being in the same team is comfortable and intel has good WLB .. I am not sure whether u have kids, if yes its worthwhile to invest on them rather than high TC if one of you is making good money .. How much ever you make happiness is having time to spend it and not making more and more .. if you are on H1B still wait because usually higher the pay its risker at certain circumstances..
We both are American citizens. Born here
We have 1 kid. Thanks for the perspective
What are you waiting for? It is a sinking ship
I just left intel. But reading the comment I think maybe I should have waited. Do the quiet quitting and do the bear minimum? But also I felt bored in intel with my job.
Let her enjoy best WLB at intel.
She should go in next 3 months
Layoffs very likely at Intel
Wait for CPM. Get almost 3 months salary by then. You have enough income and she can enjoy 3 months. Meanwhile, economy will be better and she can join elsewhere with better salary. Don't panic.
I would suggest she wait a little longer. The WLB is pretty good at intel, you could actually work only 1~2 hours and enjoy the day. wait for the CPM package as layoff is on the way soon

I was CPMed recently, and jumped ship.
