Protecting brokerage accounts
Now that I have FI balance in my accounts, I am starting to get paranoid about some asshole using data from the Equifax leak/etc, to come wipe me out. I searched around today and it looks like someone could walk away with all your money and you are SOL. How are you protecting your accounts? Is there any brokerage that is truly safe or gives me real protection?
All brokerages have the following: "[insert broker name] will cover 100% of any losses in any of your accounts due to unauthorized activity" besides it takes days to actually sell stock.
