Pure storage work experience?
Asking for a friend … Thoughts about pure storage? Recruiter reached out for flasher array side to hire as MTS Hows the wlb? Are they planning to allow remote work? Read some stuff about layoffs last year and folks getting fired. Some reviews on glassdoor seem to talk about bad management. Any red flags to watch out for? Does the company have solid future with stocks in times of cloud tech? What kind of career progressions does the company/management support? Any toxic male culture complaints? No remote work. Great culture, great tech, great product, great people, and great pay.
Layoffs worries are non-existent. They had one round of layoffs about a year and a half ago, and that was to remove 5 years of fluff because there is no PIP culture and there were no layoffs beforehand Everyone I talked to basically said that they were lower performers for years and would have gotten laid off years ago at another company. It is absolutely the best company I have worked for. As stated, it's a in-person collaboration company. There are great Engineers here, but it's a culture of communication.

I have been in the industry for over 20 yrs, and Pure is hands down the best place I have worked. Friendly coworkers and managers, great tech, excellent culture, WLB, good pay for excellent performers. We do not PIP like Amazon. Layoff/PIP for SWE is only for low performers, nothing to worry about.

Why does Pure never hires? So many of my friends tried and they did really well following all the tips from recruiter but still reject 😭 with meta collaboration news, guess now pure is even more hard to get in? Or is just gate keeping?
It's hard to get past. Our interview process is designed to be very selective. (Too selective, some might argue.)
@iCaru, what a candidate feels about interview performance hardly means anything. Did your friends take feedback from the interviewer during the interview? Coding interview is not about blurting out a soln and getting ok. Good interviewers ask lots of follow up questions to test candidates understanding. These days most questions are leaked and folks memorize soln, we have to weed such folks out. If candidate gives perfect soln, but cannot explain or stumbles on follow up questions, that is a red flag.
What is with the high pay stories? I see them offering slightly above Cisco and way below other FAANG level companies. I had an offer but we didn’t discuss the compensation when I mentioned I had a pending faang offer and they backed out. To me, that doesn’t sound like great culture! Interviewers were fine and cool. But, no diversity. Felt a bit old school in the way the team I interviewed for was managed. Just my 2 cents from the outside
Remote work isn't really part of the plan. 3x/week in person will probably be required after the pandemic. Great culture, WLB, and high TC if you're a high performer.
