Applying to Amex, I'm marginally overqualified based on the job description and the stated salary range is lower than I'd like since Amex doesn't give out RSUs. Anyone know if hiring managers have the flexibility to push for a candidate to be brought on at a higher level (with commensurate salary) if interviews show they're a strong candidate? #amex #americanexpress
Budgets are pretty tight everywhere. Experience and domain expertise may give HMs leeway at mid sized companies, but interview perf won't affect that much
I’ve applied to more than a couple roles at Amex that I’m well qualified for and within 1-3 days of job posting but haven’t heard a thing. Pretty sad tbh. Looking for referrals if anyone’s willing 🤞
The last one I applied to I got a notification after about 3 weeks saying the role was cancelled.
DM for rec if needed
I don't mean to bust your bubble but some of the positions that are posted or for pipelining purposes only. There really isn't much hiring if any hiring going on but there is some restructure.
Have you had a conversation with the recruiter ? Ask for flexibility and they will be open to letting you know. Depending on where you are in the org and the HM, the HM can push for some increase if they want to hire you.
