I applied for a role at PwC that had an extremely wide salary range in the posting: $69,000-$240,000. In the application itself, I had to select my preferred salary and there wasn’t a ‘prefer not to say’ option. So, I chose $200,000-$225,000, which I felt was solidly within-range per the posting but not at the very top. It seems that my application was immediately rejected, so I’m wondering if it was filtered out for being above some internal salary bar… is that a thing? I’m applying to another PwC role so am wondering if I should choose a lower band, then negotiate later if interviews go well? Current TC: $163,000 YOE: 4
$200k and above is senior manager level in PwC. 4YoE won’t qualify you for the role
Ah that makes sense. So does their salary range include several levels even though the title is ‘manager’?
I was recruited for a manager position but the partner ended up wanting me to come in as senior associate. I had 12 YOE at that time. Switch and bait tactics...
Might be because PWC was looking for more YOE for that level.
Posting said 4+ years but I get that that may be the absolute minimum when ideally they’re looking for more
