Does coding in Python during Microsoft interviews reduce the chances of getting selected? #interview #microsoft @Microsoft
I was specifically asked for c++. It depends on team
Which team/product is it for?
Most likely not
I did all my interviews in Python and got an L61 offer. The managers were happy with my code and I got good feedback so language doesn't matter.
How difficult were the questions?
Leetcode mediums. Nothing too crazy.
Unless your role is niche, any of the common languages is fine, and python is obviously one of them.
I did my interviews in Python yet my interviews only seemed to know C#/C++ They were ok with it but they didn’t know whether Python was dynamically typed, even after I coded the problem...
Isn't it pretty bad that interviewers don't know that? That's common sense...And if the interviews are just leetcode, I doubt the solution looks any different between languages.
It is, but they were both eng managers at Microsoft for a decade+ who I assume haven’t coded in years.
OP, how do u handle treeset or treemap needs in python ?

Probably not. All of my interviewers wanted C# though
