Is anyone learning python? how are you learning
I learned python a few years ago. Started with some online classes (datacamp, udemy/udacity). Then looked around the Interwebs for datasets. Now I use it pretty regularly at my jobby job
Thanks great!
Just sticking to YouTube videos here and there. Looking into udemy currently.
I was looking at udemy as well
Start off with a couple of beginner YouTube videos and then move on to books and hands-on practice
Thanks
No problem!
After initial few basic videos, Take up a small problem at your work and start with that. Initially for everything you use google, but eventually you will get to do without much of googling. Not being a CS background I spent 3-4 yrs trying to do videos. Feel good when you do videos, but can’t use it for anything. After that I started taking a small task and worked thru that and now more comfortable
Where and what type of problems do you use
Anything at you work. If you don’t have anything, just try to get data from an excel spreadsheet into a Redis or MySQL database
I tried learning from books, but starting it out it was rather slow for me. I decided to go for a community college intro to CS in python course and the fact it was strict deadlines made all the difference. Now I’m taking oop/data structures in Python and algorithms, I can safely say I’m learning way faster than I would of on my own. I feel like just starting out this definitely the best course of action for me personally.
Starting is often the hardest
It was and despite the $500 per class, I’m happy with my decision because now that I have a few graded CS courses done, I have a chance at CS masters programs.
In the middle of learning it coming from Java. I learned I have zero patience for lectures and books at this point in my life. So all I’m doing now is combing through Hackerrank’s Python problems and Googling concepts as I approach them. Maybe write a little extra to make sure I got things right. Once I get through this then it’s a LC tour
I learned it a few years ago. I started off with a few YouTube tutorials and then just relied on stack overflow and similar forums
I stand on my hands and meditate.
I have been learning through the book - Crash course python. It has real-world projects also on building a game, web app and data analysis using python
That sounds really good. Thanks for the recommendation
I am waiting for my book patiently, thanks
