When did they get layoff notice? I could refer to my team but we have hiring freeze right now.

Which org specifically? Qualcomm's core group is generally safe as kind of understaffed. Applications, customer support, technical acct management likely could be affected. The connectivity Atheros group has been moving all meaningful roles to Bangalore.

I think HW is still hiring in SD for Google. Also plenty of biotech in sorrento valley probably hiring HW engs too since theyre not in a recession like tech isZ
