I am currently interviewing with QC for principal engineer position in SD. The HR told me Base is around 275k Bonus is 20% = 55k RSU = 250K/3 Relocation+signon Do you think its good deal or I can stretch little bit more ? Current TC = 260k+40K(Bonus)+25K (RSU) in Austin I have in total 18 Years experience with Ph. D #qualcomm # # # #
Take it before the market turns around.
Which field?
wireless communication
Congratulations. No idea about base pay but sign on can easily go to $100k or more than that if you split sign on over two years.
Thank you so much.
Hi OP, Which team Are you in RTL or DV or PD?
He’s prolly into signal processing ie wireless comm
You mean QDSP team?
Dude he’s phd so it be 5G group under JS or other svp…why do you care btw?
5G Wireless
I rarely see any Principal external hires(outside Nuvia). So just curious about teams which hire principals.
Good point
I'm Sr Staff engineer at QC. Base salary is very good (Mine's just over $200k), but RSUs aren't great for that package. I got that last year at my grade and expect to up it by at least $10k this winter. Bonus is dependent on personal rating and company performance, so if you're a top performer that could go higher. Salary: very good Bonus: good RSUs: meh
Planning to apply for a few positions, can you please share your team, location and YOE?
RSUs needs to be higher. More like $450k/3.
Thank you so much. How much can I expect for signon bonus ?
I have seen $100k signon for your YOE. I was actually trying find one post blind from a month back. His final numbers for Sr Staff were: $220k base, $400k/3 RSU and $85k signon. The profile was DV. I would expect higher numbers for RSU from this as your level is one above Sr staff. But it all depends on negotiation skills
