How is the culture in Qualcomm San Diego? How is the work life balance?
I was the SW lead for XR device drivers from India. I just had 5 YOE. I had to write kernel drivers from scratch and implement features which have never been implemented else where. I take pride in my work but the team is understaffed. My work was not meant for a senior engineer role. My honest opinion, many staff engineers and above in SD in the XR team are not that qualified. It was awkward for me to drive issues from India being a senior engineer and getting underpaid. No doubt the work is R&D cutting edge, but if the team is not technically skilled, you will struggle. If you are really good at what you are getting hired for, this might work for you.
Thank you!
Aren’t device drivers undergrad level course work?
Understaffed, less pay (when compared to Nvidia, AMD). Most of the work is done from Asia. So lot of morning and night meeting. be prepared for that.
