Qualcomm vs Apple

Hi, I just got 2 intern positions for these 2 companies, hope to gain some suggestions 1. Qualcomm, backend 2. Apple, iOS App dev Qualcomm is better in the position, given that most of people says backends seems more promising than mobile. And Apple is better for the reputation, it is maybe feel more cool to work for Apple. The pay is on the same level Can you give me some advise, choose direction or company?๐Ÿค” #appl#qualcomm #software #swe #engineering

Even if pay is equal for the internship offers, Apple will be considerably higher if a full-time offer is given. I worked at Qualcomm and I liked it but I definitely feel more impactful at Apple.

If it is the same track I will definitely go for Apple ๐Ÿฅฒ

Backend at Qualcomm... What does that even mean. It's a chip company. Are you working on infra ? Seems like Apple is the better choice even if you think app dev is not a big deal.

Yes. It is working on infrastructure. But what brother me is that you can change a company easier than change a track( like from mobile to backend

Why would backend be more promising then mobile?

I am a beginner, that opinion is based on what most people says. Enlighten me if I was wrong๐Ÿฅน

I am genuinely curious too. Backend people are incredibly talented and smart, but front end is not as easy as people make it out to be. They both have their own unique challenges. When it comes to deciding which career path youโ€™d like to follow, do whatever you enjoy the most.

Why would you even have to ask this question? Stop humble bragging and take the damn Apple offer.

Don't overthink. In the end company prestige is what matters on your resume. People have been saying the same BS about embedded OS etc being "harder" and more valued for the past 20 years but market reality has been very different.
