Quant starting salary in London?
Just finished onsites with some quant trading firms (among Jane Street, Jump Trading, Citadel Securities, DRW, HRT) for quant research roles in London (new grad). I believe the first year comp in NYC for similar roles go from 100k base to around 400 TC at the top. London TC is by no way similar to the US. Expect 60% of the US comp for the similar role/seniority

Does that mean Jump pays more than 60% of US comp in UK?
I think London and NYC are pretty similar at JS. Definitely not 40% less.
I haven’t heard of anything similar to $400k TC for a new hire in London unlike NYC, but seems like Jump and JSC do it better
Was offered 50% TC at Marshall Wave compared to what I made in NY for similar position, definitely much lower TC in London compared to US

London TC is same as US in top shops, base will be higher because legislation in UK requires bonus to be capped. For a good shop TC is about 800K for 4 yoe and above

400-600K depends on firms in US, London maybe equivalent in sterlings, this is quant traders btw, and large portion of that is performance bonus, expect to be fired within 3 months if not performing as expected
