Whenever I conduct a behavioral interview, I always ask this question to candidates: Do you own a Tesla? If the answer is yes, that basically demonstrates the candidate is - patient. You have to wait for a year to pick up a car. During the wait they will check the app everyday to see how far the delivery date is pushed back. - caring about details. Before you pay for the vehicle, you have to perform a detailed quality check using an open source checklist on GitHub(~1hr). It automatically qualifies the candidate for any QA positions, if they can perform this step well. - tolarent. After you pay for 70k+ for a vehicle, there is always some small issues like panel gaps and bad paint jobs. Tesla owners always take the bullet in the ass tolerating all the imperfections like a toy you got from Amazon. They are likely nice to work with. - able to manage time efficiently. The first month of Tesla ownership, they will likely visit service centers to get problems fixed. Worst case the service center will require multiple visits stretching to a year before it's really fixed. Candidates will constantly take time off and must be good at managing Tesla service time vs work vs life very well. A plus for squeezing extra leetcode time in between. - contributing to the community. Tesla owners constantly share crime videos captured from Tesla cam to SFPD even though all police does is complementing the quality of the video. So smooth with such a high frame rate. We need more people who care about the community like them. Most people probably worked on OSS before. - thanksgiving. Once their vehicle is totalled in an accdent, they will post on Reddit how their Tesla saved their lives. And those who didn't survive still thanks elon when being buried in dirt. You will never need to worry about them taking all the credits. - willing to dog food with their lives. Full self driving is right here in front of you and those who can afford it will test it with their own and families lives. The devotion to tech is beyond this world. We definitely can count on them pushing our civilization forward. - not being a stranger. Tesla owners always wave to each other and comment on how big their wheels are (stock size or the uber size). They will not be the typical nerd you see in the hallway! Definitely a team player. My team is full of Tesla owners and we hangout out on highway 101 every Saturday on auto pilot in our own Teslas, while huddling on a slack channel #big_wheels_sfo What questions do you ask behaviral interviews? #tesla
Haters are stupid and this is an example
I own a Tesla😁
🫣
Sir I have Corolla . I fondly call it Tesla . Can I join the team
Yes if it is GR Corolla
You are a great guy. Post your resume here I will hook you up.
👏👏
How much you got paid for this ****?
Troll deserves a troll response
You can buy a used Tesla not much patience is needed
I'd expect the candidate to ask a clarifying question.
Who gave you interviewing rights
If you're not driving a Toyota or a Honda (or similar in low-maintenance) or a beater car, you are over-spending. One of the best mentors I have ever met, 7-fig+ net worth, always drove a beater car.
What’s the point of having a 7-figure NW if you’re not gonna use it or live life now?
I hope your beater car can still deploy the airbag when needed... Or at least have rear view camera when you reverse so you don't run over some kids...
This is idiotic
You forgot “being an armchair environmentalist”
Oh shoot, the vegan friendly leather!

What if I don’t own a Tesla? I fail the interview?
Googlyness and teslaness are unfortunately on the opposite side of the autism spectrum. But I think we can complement each other and make it full.
LOL. You’re a good interviewer.
