Question about Microsoft Product Managers

To all those at Microsoft, How are so many Product Managers from Microsoft able to lead a very nice tech influencer life style? Their instagram is full of them vacationing every week, travelling to new places, trying out new restaurants, buying very expensive cars, having veblen clothes and goods. What is the deal with them? Do they get paid very well? Do they not have a lot of work? How are they able to lead such a nice life style? I have rarely seen SDEs lead this influencer life style in instagram. Most of the SDEs are breaking their back on weekends doing oncall, doing leetcode or learning something. But Product Managers are having a blast. How is this possible? TC: 160K

You get a Bugatti as part of your orientation. Satya sends his personal selection of private label tequila's to your house. TC is north of $73m annually per PM. Not everyone can work this hard and play this hard. By work hard I mean just repeat the phrase "send the demand signals" and then ignore everyone.

Only 73m? Man, things were such much better when Ballmer was around

Product managers never really existed in Microsoft at least till a year ago, at least not in the true sense and almost all Product managers are just program managers who got a title change. Just trying to make that role more glamorous, but they all just do menial program manager roles and earn peanuts 🥜

There even used to be a time when UX designer wasn’t a thing, and it was done by PM

I can believe that. I worked in HW and we had UX from 2010 at least. But all of a sudden regular Program managers started calling themselves Product Managers and that was hilarious.
