Had a question regarding the logistics of the process. When do companies send out H1b applications by mailing to USCIS exactly? Can they do it in Feb or March itself? Would like to know this mainly to determine how long one can wait till notifying a company not to file.
They send it using Fedex/UPS at the end of March so that it reaches USCIS on April 1. It may change soon, there is talk of moving it online (or some aspect of it).
Any chances of that happening this year itself?
Here is all we know officially: https://www.reginfo.gov/public/do/eAgendaViewRule?pubId=201710&RIN=1615-AB71 They will release more details in February (next month). Will it affect April 2018? I have no idea.
Companies typically send it on April first. May be one or two days delayed but before 5th. I've not heard them send Feb or March. Why do you want to not apply?
In a hypothetical situation where another company B can apply instead if I get their offer before April. Cannot ask A to wait since I have accepted already.
So LCA fillings are done early but the actual petition is sent in April only?
