“Quiet Quitting” is lazy. Trying to establish a better work life balance is not an excuse to not try harder or do well at your job. This doesn’t mean you need to extend your job outside of job hours, but it does mean you need to work more efficiently and innovate to accomplish job goals during job hours. Don’t be lazy. TC: 305K
It’s a pretty simple construct. Employer wants a minion to do tasks, even if said tasks are “strategic” or “tactical” whatever. End of the day, employer needs a body and in exchange they pay you. If you have no boundaries on the amount time you give for said pay, or even just simply balance your work load… you are an idiot. People have been sold this idea of a career, there are no careers just jobs. You want a career? Go build your own company. We all know the smartest and hardest working often aren’t the ones that even get promoted the fastest.
Ez promo for 🍑👅
👌 exactly
I do what they pay me to do and not an iota more. If I was being lazy, they’d fire me. Clearly we’re all happy with this arrangement as I’m still gainfully employed. What does “working more efficiently” mean anyway? Get more done in less time so they can give me more work? Why would I do that? I’m salaried. I don’t get anything extra for finishing a task in 1 day or 5 days. Well, except more work.
This is also not a dig at those who like to go the extra mile. You do that because you choose to. I don’t do that because I don’t want to. There’s nothing wrong with being an overachiever, I just don’t have the motivation to do it. If it makes you happy then that’s good!
Some do it to get Promoted, that isn't gauranteed success either.

Working long hours should be last resort similar to doing a protest against anything. But unfortunately people do that first and often some managers expect that since everyone around is doing that. Quiet quitting might not be perfect, but it is in right direction setting boundaries around work. People will soon invest in techniques to accomplish work in shorter time once they establish a rule on long hours.
Most people are a better use to society staying out of the way. Laziness isnt bad
Very boomer
But how do I even know what’s truly expected of my job at my specific level? Companies intentionally write broad level expectations so I never know if I am working more, less or about the right amount 🤷♂️
Let me guess. You also begrudge ppl who got some of their student loans cancelled?
💀
Nah he is 100% those ppl who hate on job hopping. Probably a boomer or so bad at interviews he just accept fate at the same company for 5+ years. Work hard for 1.5 years, quiet quit for 6 months while you LC for the next. Company loyalty died in the 93 when IBM layed off 60k of their seniors with 10+ years in who were loyal to the company, but kept all their new hires. Its always about money.
You are lazy for being here and posting BS. Bet you wrote this while still laying in bed lazily. Do you even gym bro?
Can only gym before 5am as well for it to count
