I have been working in telecom field for almost 7+ years. Currently RF Eng 3 at Verizon wireless and I don’t see any career growth for long run as well as base pay sucks. I would like to see what are possible career change for a person with telecom background can pursue in IT. Data engineering roles with python/AWS certifications? Appreciated some feedback on it. Thanks! Just signed up on blind. #Base pay 95k #telecom #aws #Python
I have the same experience with the salary. I transitioned to a solution architect position in AWS and increased salary 40% after an internship making the same amount of money as an RF engineer. I will suggest you to learn about AWS and look for solution architect position in the telecom domain. I tried with data engineer positions but they want experience with production. You can try with data analyst positions but they don't have the best salaries.
I would appreciate if I can DM you offline to discuss future more! Thanks!
Yes. If you are interested and you feel that you can make the transition you can check to the Tech-u program. https://www.amazon.jobs/en/landing_pages/AWS-techu Is a remote training for different roles in AWS, I know other FAANG companies have similar roles.
Thanks! I’ll take a look at it.
We are looking for someone like you. Message me. Fast growing telecom startup.
