Recent Stripe news looks rough for Plaid Seems like plaids growth is over now, new customers will likely enjoy Stripes brand name and go with them instead. Even if plaids product might be a bit better. Prestige, brand and reputation are everything. News of layoffs and valuation issues too? Seemed like plaid was a safe pre-ipo choice, but not anymore. Recruiter just reached out for interviews too, but think I’m going to have to pass now.
Majority of pre-ipo companies are not a safe choice. When a bigger fish likes what you’re doing they’ll either offer to buy you out or just copy your idea. Like how Fb copied Snapchat. Snap still survived. Or how Microsoft decided to build Teams instead of buying Slack
Fb snap is bad comparison. People can use 2 social media at same time. No client will use 2 products like plaid at once
Okay, thanks for ignoring the other example.
Ok… are you happy now?
Link?
I just recently went through the interview process with Plaid and felt very similarly. I talked with ~12 people and no one had great answers about their competitive moat. And what I heard of their future roadmap doesn't seem too promising. I don't see how they'll realistically expand beyond providing basic API services.
It's ogre.
What layoffs? I think it’s your turn in DnD because you’re living in a fantasy land.
Search posts sir :). Current employee spending is too high, no way to reduce without layoffs since your growth is stunted now
Spending almost every dollar on employees is not sustainable without layoffs
Weird how you've been fearmongering in a lot of plaid threads the past week without a shred of credible evidence Do you think we're dumb enough to fall for this?
Fearmongering? How so? This is literally the first I’ve posted on this topic! Not trying to fool anyone, just interesting discussion :)
Also I’m not the only one saying this…go look at all the other posts and comments for plaid…
No layoffs at Plaid and plenty of money in their coffers!
How much?
Told y’a so
Sounds like you are not a match for Plaid, but that leaves open good roles for people who want to be there.
The offer acceptance rate is not 29% lolol. I am not claiming that everything is perfect at Plaid, but you are literally just making stuff up at this point.
