Is it worth it to get a radar detector or is everything a laser detector around here?
Valentine 1 works very well for lidar which is used a lot there. It’s prob illegal in ultra gay liberal California though so just hide it when not in use.
Detectors in CA are legal. Jammers and deflectors are not.
I’m honestly very shocked at that. Don’t let any dems hear about that they’ll write a bill to ban it before the weeks over.
I have a Uniden R3 that I use in the south bay. It’s a waste of money. Just use waze instead.
It's useless because radars are everywhete along the road on the pole. And it can't tell if radar is on pole or in hand of a cop.
You get what you pay for. Nicer ones can keep track of past hits by gps and filter them out.
Lidar detection is entirely useless, need a jammer. So factor in both costs as you’re deciding. Ultimately depends when/where/how you drive.

Lasik cost
It is worth it only on long trips. I’ve used one for years (Escort IX) and when you get out of the city, the cops mostly use old radar bands (Ka) One cop in Nevada even used an X band radar on me. Lasers are common in highly frequented areas. I know the cop near the Half Moon Bay exit on I-280 definitely uses Laser. After a couple of years, you kinda know where the cops would most likely squat. Unagi! A state of total awareness!
