Question about women in their 30’s?
Hello blinders in North Carolina area, I am planning to relocate to Charlotte or Raleigh. But I am not sure which city to choose. I am currently working in Meta, and would be opting for remote option. My kids are expected to go to University in 3 years. My adjusted base pay would be 170k in NC. Also I should be able to find a new job in tech industry if I lose my job in future. Based on this please suggest which place is the best option for me. Thanks TC: 330K
Raleigh is the best bet. Three good universities in the RTP area plus few others in Virginia. With that base, you can buy a really nice SFH and enjoy.
Raleigh is best . You have many universities around .
Raleigh. Great job base, closer to the ocean, and great college options for your fam
Raleigh
100% Raleigh, no brainer. What's your YOE? Your pay looks really low for FB standards
I have 10+ years of experience. But I was offered IC5 role in Data Engineering side. Working at FB was my priority and my earlier TC was far less than my current TC.
Makes sense. I got accepted too and chose remote option. I will know the final numbers today or tomorrow
Thanks so much for your inputs. Could you suggest some good neighborhoods around Research Triangle Park?
Remote at meta too, and definitely considering moving to one of these two cities. Great choices OP I used to live in Fayetteville
Can I DM you?
@OP What’s your base for your current TC? How much did COL adjustment reduce your base by?
Base pay is 190K in Menlo Park location Adjusted to 170K in NC cities
20 k reduction is not bad!!
Hands down Raleigh. Apple is setting up shop. Hands down, better that living in the bay area, from a cost of living and quality of life standpoint
Charlotte 100%
Lol, no way, Raleigh is best for tech
