Looks like I might get an offer from udemy. Role offered: senior staff ( back end) Years of experience: 8 Current total comp: 230k Offer from udemy: Base 190k , no bonus, 10k joining bonus, 25k stock options. Yet to negotiate. Is it worth taking a hit on total comp ? How is edtech tech scene overall ? Coursera, udemy not sure when they would IPO. Have pending onsite with door-dash and Facebook.
Company is going through growing pains, but I love working here. Seems to be a lot of confidence in new CEO, new CTO also seems to be solid.
What is the news about IPO ? I know plural insights is nearest comparable IPO
I m being low balled in terms of stocks ?
I heard the work-life balance is great
It's fantastic. Very dedicated people but you get your work done as you see fit to. People generally care about results, not presenteeism.
I see.
I'm wary about edtech in general. Udacity were the ones who were most focused on industry tie ups and making money, and even they're floundering and laying people off frequently. Don't know how hopeful things are for the rest.
