What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Just got reached out by Meta recruiter for a SWE opportunity. Almost two year at my first job, don’t like it but I’m content and thankful. But with current market condition I’m very hesitant to switch jobs especially with more rumors about Meta lay offs. Currently a high performer at Microsoft with good rewards, should be fairly safe. What are your thoughts on jumping ship? Edit so I don’t gtfo YOE 1.5 TC 180k

Don't rattle something if it isn't broken. If you have something good going on, there's no need to change. Just work on yourself. Start new hobbies, go rock climbing, surfing, skiing, learn painting, new languages, travel the world, etc etc.
That’s the road to mediocrity
Interview != hire. Get the offer first, no harm in interviewing if it doesn’t affect your daily work. After you get numbers and observe market trends, you can decide. I would lean towards jumping just because Meta TC can be double and layoffs could happen at either company. Keep in mind WLB will go out the window in exchange for high TC, especially with our year of efficiency.
Do you feel meta is leaning towards RTO and hiring more within tech hubs?
No mark likes remote
If you’re not on a visa then sure why not, take the chance. The severance will tide you over until you find a new job and the upside is appreciable if you don’t get laid off.
Even if you come to meta you will just be considered and e4. Where you could make up to 280kish. Is 100 k worth the daily pain without wlb?

Op added TC. So what’s your input now? None? Guess so!
