I have an idea for a webapp that I want to prototype in my spare time, but I'm a frontend noob. Last time I dabbled in JS was in 2000s and all this modern frontend webdev stuff scares and confuses me. Which framework would you recommend for a noob like me to pick up today to get my app off the ground with least effort and brain damage?
Is angular still there ?
Angular 7 is not bad. I like because it uses typescript
Seems like a default choice inside google for anything, very little react usage here from what I see
No matter what framework is/was/has been in vogue, Plain JS (JS apis + Dom manuipulation) + plain jquery (no jquery ui) will always be foundational skills to always have
Use Vanilla JS (ES6+)
Like Godaddys answer. Plain JS skills wud give OP context on what framework saves him effort and aligns to his preference for an opinionated vs non opinionated framework
Wait... How is it possible that you can do backend but are daunted by front-end? :/
Front end has different, but no less frustrating challenges
Building a front-end is easy, building a good front-end is hard.
Fuck web development
ReactJS is the future! Big community and resources. And fuck you too @Instagram.
The key to prototyping is to make it fast and dirty. Just make it do what you imagined. Then make sure that’s what you want before you polish it at all. So I voted jQuery because it’s easy for beginners. All the best!
Angular is a dumpster fire. Go with react

Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
If you want a job, react. If it's for fun, vue all the way
What’s special about Vue? Many like it.
Vue is (IMHO) a lot easier to get started with. Their official tutorial is great.
