Recent changes to PERM Application status.

I'm sure we've all heard about the recent changes/delay to the PERM process. What are your thoughts on it? Is it worth it to start the process now even though you will be back of the queue? Are there delays like this at other companies as well? 🍿 Basically the PERM process has been delayed and applications have been put on hold for being placed under Labor Market Testing. The next time applications will be placed on LMT (which I believe they have changed to 4 times a year now), priority will be given to those who have been waiting for a while. Thus aside from these applicants, some people are saying this will delay the process by 1-2 years. Again please correct me if I'm wrong, this is just my understanding.
