Recruiter asking visa status
A friend gave his interview with Apple onsite yesterday. HR pinged today asking visa status so that she can open a case with immigration team. His is an internal transfer. Is this just part of interview process at Apple that they ask ur visa status so they can parallely open a case? Or did the interview go well and they actually want to move forward? One round of the interview went bad. So he’s not expecting an offer. HR did not say how the interview went. She asked him how the interviews were and told him to share visa status so she can open a case with immigration team. TC- 215K
For internal movement in Microsoft, you need to involve immigration team to check if new job matches your old job or not. Based on that they will decide if a new petition is required or not. It has nothing to do with interview outcome.
From my understanding with apple team the recruiter asks these questions as a part of the questionnaire and forward them to their immigration team to make sure they have no concerns, I haven’t given my on site yet but they already asked me these questions
Yeah typically this happens before the on-site.
Happened to me when I was moving teams in Amazon. It's just part of the process.
