Recruiter from Hewlett-Packard reached out to me for an principal engineer position. I almost forgot that this company still exists. I’m curious to know how is this company doing. Hp was like Amazon during my school days.
What do you mean by Meh?
I mean it manufactures products that aren’t top tier by any means. It’s basically a commodities company
My first company.
HPE I assume ? They seem reasonably competitive in storage, compute and Greenlake hybrid cloud / on prem but at that point you might as well join dell ;-)
No it’s just hp not HPE
It’s a slow dying giant. Also what’s up with “principle”? As in this is only an engineer” in principle” (but not really? 😂. Fwiw I’ve seen lots of LinkedIn profiles list this too and I think if you can’t spell principal correctly you don’t deserve to be one.
I’m not applying for spelling bee contest 😜
Yeah I can spell CEO , I deserved to be CEO as per your logic 😜
"Hp was like Amazon during my school and under graduate days." Op sounds old
Yeah bro I’m in early 30s
More like 40s old
HP is still pretty big, they sell a lot in the commercial space and a fair amount in consumer. They have historically had awful upper leadership but I don't know if that has changed recently
Not changed, in fact some may say each new group of upper leadership is a new low
No one’s asking for referrals to Charles Schwab…
