Hi everyone, I have an onsite with reddit for an SDE position. I am @Amazon right now and am looking for new opportunities in hopes of a better work life balance. Fellow engineers at Reddit. How happy are you with your reddit experience. Glassdoor reviews mention the culture is cliquey. Is this true? Let me know! #engineering #swe #reddit
Ugh, not more people from Amazon.
Um I have just worked for amazon for a year. No hate please! There is a reason I'm looking to move.
I am not in eng, but I personally enjoy working at reddit (and most folks I know enjoy working here as well). Your work life balance will definitely be better than Amazon. It is not perfect as with any growth company, and your experience likely depends on the team you join. However, I don't agree with many old reviews on Glassdoor or blind. I suspect most are outdated (the disgruntled folks or the management they complain about are no longer here)
Awesome! Thank you for letting me know.
Really enjoy it at Reddit. Great benefits and wlb. Personally think the Glassdoor is also outdated too IMO. Eng work is interesting as you will get to build new more modern systems that should exist (but don’t yet). I personally think u learn more building a new product/feature/system from scratch vs being the nth engineer working on some enormous amazon project
Awesome! This is refreshing to hear.
No question wlb and the way you will get treated will be better than AMZN. Stock is paper money so make sure you are ok with that. Lots of god projects so no worry about that, management is fine (nobody is perfect), employees are very nice and friendly. I think the CEO is great. I have enjoyed working here overall.

Have you ever worked on Linux kernel fork and entering in a discussion with Linus Torvalds?
