does Reddit have good work life balance? it's a small company.
From my experience, you'll have the freedom to make what you want of it. No one will expect or ask you to work more hours or come in on weekends, but it's certainly not the place to go rest and vest. The company benefits codify the value of having folks take time off (there's a vacation stipend for example) and prioritize their families. In the end, you'll get rewarded based on your work and not what hours you clocked, so they err on treating everyone as adults and letting us decide how we get our work done. All that said, it's certainly not the place to go rest and vest... there's a lot of passion and fires in people's bellies right now given the imminent potential and they'll absolutely reward hard work when it yields high throughput and quality. So it's all a balance, but as long as you're adding value to your teammates and company you get to make of it what works for you.
cool. what's the vibe like? would you say the company focuses more on high performance high intensity culture or more empathic human culture?
Empathetic. At the same time people do get PIPed out with some regularity, so it's not a rest and vest.
As a reddit user, I have lost all my work-life balance to reddit ππ
