He says to replace him with a black candidate. I mean diversity is good but this is kind of messed up. what if there was a good enough hispanic candidate or any other race? https://www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2020/6/5/21281744/reddit-co-founder-alexis-ohanian-resigns-board
🤦♂️😹
So, basically racism. The circle is complete.
Yup, I thought you can’t hire/deny people based on race, isn’t that illegal??
It most certainly is racism and illegal. This could have been an SNL skit or Onion article 10 years ago. Delusional people are currently being enabled in society at the moment.
It will be more exciting if the black candidate will be from LGBT and disabled.
Feminist lesbian black with blue hair should be nice. Believing to esoteric religion and/or having tattoos is plus
It is great to finally live in a country where racism is institutionalized.

Thank you
It's not messed up. It's to create opportunity for a black candidate since systemic racism in our country has taken so much opportunity away from them. It's not the same to just hand it out to any non white person because all other races still have more privilege and opportunity than a black person in America.
There is no systematic racism. Indians and Chinese are everywhere, including Indian CEOs in several corporations. Or you are saying the racism against black but not brown ?
Uh, yeah. Pretty sure Indians and Chinese weren’t kidnapped and sold into slavery for a hundred plus years in America.
Tell me how many of those Indian and Chinese CEOs live in America because their ancestors were slaves for 400 years? How many of them were even born in America? How many of them grew up in America's poorest neighborhoods? How many of their grandfather's applied for home loans and banks denied them due to the color of their skin? Therefore they were pushed into poor neighborhoods with poor schools. How many? Zero.
Lot of them might have similar stories back in their home countries, does because they were born in America doesn’t mean their struggles were any less. And just because someone’s grandparents struggled does not mean the current generation would have, that’s a lot of assumptions
I don’t think village caste system life in India is a walk in the park. Learn personal responsibility . BLM should probably advocate more for that in addition to things like police brutality.
Oh man that's messed up
This is awesome. I say this as a Hispanic. OP must have trouble understanding.
Since you're Hispanic, you won't be considered for that job.
Good for him, at least he's walking the walk. My social media is full of loads of woke whites gnashing their teeth and bemoaning their terrible white privilege, but not actually doing anything or giving up their cushy position in society.
And many of them have extra bedrooms and for some reason refuse to allow homeless people to sleep in them.
You are a racist talking about white privilege. This is pure discrimination against whites.
As long as the Candidate is not white I think majority of the world will be fine(me too). So no big deal.
Why does it matter what race the candidate is though lol what if they are white, how does that make reddit any less of a company?
Whites are most ignorant due to the privileges they get(not their fault, society's fault). So not good for infusing diverse perspectives into a business model and company culture. This is on an aggegrate level, there are exceptions for sure
