What do you Blind bros think? https://reddit.com/r/cscareerquestions/s/QGIGvcmwYB TC 230k
I mean they are probably much happier than this depressed crowd of people
This!
Blinders are obsessed about grinding, TC and prestige. Redditors are fat, ugly, stupid and poor. The real happy ones are those using neither of those I think, and who actually have a life…
When I was making 140k/6YoE, I thought life was great as well. Until I found out an average new grad offer in tech is 180k. But sure, go ahead and celebrate mediocracy. Society needs more people like them, anyway.
You might want to spell mediocrity right if you’re going to complain about it
The average new grad offer is not 180K.... The money made on blind is not the norm.. its the outlier. The average new grad makes a 60K-80K salary working at pretty much most normal companies. Including Defense, Banking, Aerospace, Mobile applications, Gaming and Supply chain/small business software development. The world is bigger than the small purview of high level tech companies.
How does sometime not know for to use a some?
Coming from me I know I’ll get flamed lol, but yeah CSCareerQuestion is filled with a lot of cope
There's nothing wrong with coping. For a 22 year old in a MCOL city, 60k is totally fine. They're graduating in a down cycle - it's not gonna be what it was a few years ago
True nothing wrong with coping not everyone gets lucky in their job search and yes the dude is young he can 3x that salary in a couple years of job hopping
Yeah I’d rather be unemployed. Not taking a 60k job.
You do not want to be unemployed in the US. I lived in a car for a summer during college. It’s pretty tough. And I consider myself lucky.
Serious question. Why would you need to live in a car? Can’t you get one of the bazillion programs?
The problem isn’t the salary but the cost of housing/renting. $60k used to be middle class and used to feel like it even just 5 years ago. Now it feels like lower income because of rent.
The median household in this country makes that amount. You are not going to be middle class with that income, but at least you will have shelter and food. Honestly there’s only two classes, working and ownership. You are part of ownership if you can earn money without having to get a w2 job.
By that logic you're saying the median American household isn't middle class.
Cscq aren't all making 🥜 but a lot of them are. It's very student heavy. Maybe if blind added avatars for you to dress up it would attract a younger crowd
Idk you have to take what you can get out of college. I started around 60k TC 250k + paper
Inflation adjusted I was closer to 100k out of undergrad. I started college with 0 connections and 0 idea of what to do in life. 60k is acceptable. It's not great.

CSCQ loves to circlejerk to each other's mediocrity. Ignore.
Blind loves to circlejerk each other's prestige. Ignore. (My point is both are bad, there needs to be a middle ground)
There doesn't need to be a middle ground. I'm happy we finally have a community for the very ambitious with Blind. Cscareerquestions is a shitshow of celebrating averageness.
