Tc: $0 Yoe: 0
Both have pros and cons with Blind leaning way too much on being money obsessed, Reddit being way more biased on low paying underachieving jobs
depends on the subreddit. there is genuinely good advice in some places, but the majority of reddit users are either a. low tc, b. students, or c. the average redditor blind has a higher concentration of high tc but a lot of posts are stupid or just people flinging shit at each other. if you can come up with good things to search on blind then that's probably your best option, since people's opinions are clearly given credibility by the company they work at
Reddit leans too feel good. They’ll criticize anyone who’ll say that it’s not the top 0.0001% of software engineers who make $200k+, and that it’s not that hard to do so. Blind leans too toxic; it’s like 4chan but for tech. The amount of losers spouting racist/sexist stuff here and who have miserable lives because their life resolves around TC is too high. Would much rather hang out with the Reddit user. Both have good career advice though. Reddit I’d say for career direction more and general advice, and Blind more for all of the latest TC trends, and band increases across specific companies.
Give me a good white manager and good TC. This is blind in a nutshell
blind for TC and career progress. Reddit for learning
Reddit is for teenagers on acid
