Why? I don’t know much about the work culture at blizzard

I'm guessing you are interested because you like their products - which is a good thing. However, when it comes to work, it's not a good idea to let that blind you. I would definitely look into the work culture online or by asking here. You may find that working there could sap all the previous passion you had for it due to the work environment.

Fanboy/fangirl’ candidates always have some fantasy-view about what it’s like to work at a company with a product they love. My experience is that those individuals become the most disillusioned and bitter. If you make a go of this, lower your expectations. Prepare yourself for the reality that creating the magic isn’t always pleasant. If you idolize anyone within the company, check that at the door, they’ve dealt with fanboys before and are probably ‘over it’.

I think you should disregard the advice here and do it if you really want to and the financials work out. Although I mostly agree with the advice, it's a great learning opportunity for you. Either your passion runs deep and you'll learn a lot from the experts that make amazing games, or you'll figure out your pleasure playing games doesn't translate to pleasure working on them. Regardless of the outcome, you'll have learned about what's important to you and can make a better decision on your next step. If, on the other hand, you joined some finance company you don't care about, you'll be no closer to knowing what you actually want to do. Take the risks and make the bad choices now, not when you're married with kids and have a mortgage.

No job security. Facebook is a better yield for pretty much everything else. I've had a ton of friends in the round of layoffs
