Hello everyone, I'm seeking help and referrals from this community as I'm facing challenges with my job applications. Despite my qualifications and experience, I'm not getting recruiter calls, and I'm unsure of what I might be doing wrong. My profile: - Masters in Computer Science with Data Science specialization from India (top most) graduated top 10% of my class.(Dual degree- Bachelors+Masters) - Masters in IS from a top 15 MBA college in the US - 5 years of full-time experience, with roles ranging from Data Scientist to Manager in the field. - Authored multiple research papers and hold patents. - Received multiple awards within and outside organization Challenges I'm facing: 1. Rejected for Senior Data Scientist roles due to perceived lack of experience in the US ( As majority of my experience is in India) 2. Not getting calls for Junior Data Scientist positions . 3. Perception of a resume gap due to working in India and the US with a master's in between. Second masters Graduation year on the resume raises concerns about lack of experience. 4. Challenges in getting responses due to H1 visa transfer requirements. I've explored various avenues, including LinkedIn, dice, indeed and various other job platforms, and tried to connect with recruiters, but to no avail. I've identified roles at companies like #rippling, #twosigma, #hrt, #netflix, #bytedance, #tiktok, #openai, #snowflake, #square, #blackrock, #rivianautomotive, #janestreet, #duolingo, #grammarly, and #starbucks. If anyone from these companies could provide a referral or guidance, I would be immensely grateful. I'm confident in my skills and believe I can contribute significantly to the right team. Thank you for your support. #Female #27 #Indian P.S: Not even getting calls from Amazon Recruiters Current T.C: 120k
DM for SAP and anyone else for a referral!
DMed you ! Thanks!
Doing advanced degree at early age is a good sign then bad. You are thinking incorrectly. Main reason is either your resume isn’t showing skill sets suited for DS or you aren’t highlighting clearly. DM me your resume. Know a few folks at some companies in Bay Area hiring
DMed you ! Thanks!

Thank you!! I did see some positions though its not mentioned explicitly on all the roles on some of the roles I see that some security clearance/ US Citizenship is required , is it true for all the roles ?
Yes
Dm for TikTok. That goes for anyone reading
I am a female who got degree at 21 too; if you believe this is hurting your chances (I doubt it is actually, probably your perception), don’t share the time of graduation on resume and definitely don’t talk about your age
Thank you, I appreciate the advice! I just want to mention that I didn't mention when I graduated or even my age on my resume or to recruiters. And in my post earlier as well I mentioned that I see this as one of the potential challenges and not the only reason. Because some recruiters asked about getting my master's and not bachelors at 21 and requested ID and certificates for confirmation. I believe recruiters have varied priorities and perceptions !!
Oh that sucks! I used to think graduating early would be some sort of achievement people would recognize but people are shallow and they start doubting the whole thing. So I stopped volunteering this info completely. I also worked during my masters and bachelors and people would not believe you can have three years of professional experience by the time you graduate (30 hours a week, uni, 40 hours work work). I saved everyone from doubts and mental math by removing timelines for degrees entirely and only listing my work exp dating when it began. I am in DS field, btw, a hiring manager. In some companies senior DS and DS is the same thing
