Hey everyone, I am a manager – Business Analyst who has worked for a single consulting company for more than 11 years. I have total of 14 years of IT experience with some part-time development and IT support while in University. Basically, my profile primarily shows one company with many projects that I have worked on. I have worked at PNC Bank, JPMorgan & Chase, American Express, JLL, Infor BT, BT Global Services and Aetna. I have occasionally played a few product owner roles as well depending on the project but mostly a business consulting role. I want to transition to a product owner/product manager role. And I am having a tough time getting considerations, one issue I am having is, it is very hard to put 14 years of experience and skills you acquire in a 2-page profile, The no of certifications itself would take more than a page. And often must summarize the most important certificates and experience. As a consultant, I often must work in completely new domains learn them quickly and help the organizations build their vision. I have multiple certifications some being AS/400, Product Owner, Scrum, Agile, VB.Net Six Sigma, AWS etc. One of those silly people who love collecting qualifications purely for my own pleasure of being well-informed. And currently pursuing Data Science and Cloud technologies. After years of helping product owners from different organizations and domains build products, I now want to use my varied skill and knowledge to be a Product Owner / Product manager and contribute more to product development. Any advice or referral will be greatly appreciated. TechSheriff

Looks like you listed the problem with yourself very well. Note 2 things. Noone hires a god..you need to be a specialized tool to be hired for a particular job. Write your resume to highlight only what you want to present to the recruiter. Recruiters don't have the time to 'figure out' whether you are a good fit. Which brings me to the second point. Your past 'varied' experience means jack. Whatever you put on a resume should only be there to project you as a particular type of person which fits a particular type of role. If i look at your intro here. You come off as a BA, TPM, people manager, consultant, developer, cloud enthusiast, SM, operations etc. Nothing screams at me that you are a product owner. And i can't even estimate a level for you. Make your intro scream you are a product owner. You will get calls in a day. Good luck.
Thanks for the feedback, you hit the nail on the head. When you work as a consultant for an IT service company you tend to wear many hats. Its about throwing you to the deep end and getting you to swim. I have always enjoyed the challenge but as you rightly said my profile is all over.
