Asking for a friend who was at Intel, left the company, and now wants to join again. Have heard that rejoining is frowned upon at Intel, esp. if you left for competitors. Is that true?
Not frowned upon. I know many people who left and came back (years ago before intel developed it's "stench")
There are so many returnees that we have a name for them “boomerang”. Not sure if this is similar for other companies but we pay more as soon as you’ve left. Ridiculous but true.
Lol don't you usually learn from your mistakes. Why Intel.
Well said
It’s easy to get in that’s why. Not everyone is smart to go to google
I know at least 3 people who left and came back with 20% bumps at minimum
Bump from current or bump from previous salary?
Fabs don’t re-hire once you leave.
Joining back is usually considered good. Better salary.. you are looked upon as a PROVEN person..
I know someone who did this recently. Indian female. Maybe this demographic helps the "Diversity" initiative though. YMMV if you belong to "other" groups. I think there is a company policy that says you can only rejoin once in a lifetime or something like that. Still, why would anyone want to hop back on the sinking Titanic?
The stock price doesn't make it look sinking recently.
Their engineering decisions do
