Relocating from Dublin to Seattle Area, need advice
Hello Everyone , Need your input please. My family and I will be relocating from Dublin to the Seattle Area, need advice on what locations to a rent 2br Apartment. Based on my research so far, seem like it’s either Bellevue or Redmond. Your thoughts? Black with Two kids 6 and 4. Diversity is very important to us; so we are looking for schools where our kids can meet other black kids and people from other race including Indians, Asians, Latinos etc; we are hoping to avoid a situation where they aren’t thr only black kid in their class or neighborhood. Cheers. TC equivalent will be $140K/USD
Black isn't that common in Bellevue/ Redmond but plenty of Indian and Asian, and to a lesser extent Latinos. But they won't be the only one in their class either, at least when I went to school 10 years ago.
Oracle is in Seattle proper afaik so this will be a bit of a rush hour commute. Seattle is generally very diverse so you won’t have a problem with that. East side that includes Redmond and Bellevue are expensive and have high immigrant population especially Asians. Also note that a lot of areas in Seattle are shady and have people living on pavements and there are issues with crime especially near downtown. If I were you I would look into the same areas you mentioned except your commute may be longer. Your current TC will limit the areas that you can live in due to rent cost as well as childcare though.
You’ll probably see close to 0 black kids in either Bellevue/Redmond. My suggestion would be Central District, that’s the neighborhood where you’ll have black people

Depends on the city. If it is Dublin then open up daft.ie and look to the SouthEast part from the river Liffey. Look for properties next to either Dart or Luas lines. Suggest asking for help in a separate question on Blind

Can I ask you how did you find this relocation offer? Is it L1B transfer?

For black and diverse neighbors check out Beacon Hill, Columbia City, Rainier Beach, Lakeridge, Renton. Maybe the Central district though its been very gentrified.
